Bedfordshire Bluegate Farm Holiday Cottages

The cottages are two-storey, sleeping 4 - 6 people, one double room, one twin room and a sofabed. On the ground floor is a lovely, spacious, oak-beamed kitchen and dining area, fully equipped and with a rayburn oven giving you a warm welcome when you arrive. Also, on the ground floor is the twin bedroom with an en-suite shower room with toilet and sink. On the first floor is a light and airy lounge with an open pitched roof, a log burning stove (gas fuelled) set in a large brick fireplace, overlooking the countryside views across open farmland towards the ‘Chiltern Hills’. There is a large double bedroom, again with open beams and countryside views, next to this is the family bathroom. Cots are available on request. Two country cottages, just north of London, with good countryside views. Each cottage sleeps 2-6 people. Private garden area with furniture. Many places to visit and plenty of things to do in. Whipsnade Wild Animal Park, only 10 minutes drive in the car, and the beautiful National Trust Ashridge Forest and Ivinghoe Beacon with fantastic views and many different walks for all abilities. Woburn Safari Park and Woburn Abbey - 15 minutes away. The centuries old village of Aldbury, just below Ashridge, with it’s famous stocks is well worth a visit.

Cornwall Poldue Farm

  Poldue Farm is a charming semi-detached 13th century farmhouse. Being just off the A30, it is set in a perfect location for exploring Cornwall. It's at the top of a valley overlooking woodland that deer, badgers and a multitude of birds frequent. Open moorland is just a field away with fantastic views to both coasts on a clear day. It’s a lovely place to watch the sun set, and there is a chance that you may have visits from wild ponies roaming the moor. Secluded semi-detached 13th century farmhouse, sleeps 6. Derbyshire Cotterill Farm Cottages

Cotterill Farm consists of five cottages on a non-working farm in a superb but not remote central Peak District country location. Three cottages are for four persons, and the other two are equally large cottages but one (all on the ground floor and therefore particularly suitable for the less agile), sleeps three, and one sleeps only two. Despite consistent grading of 4 Stars, the owners never rest on their laurels, constantly trying to improve fitments, furnishings and services offered. (e.g. Three cottages have full Sky tv, the others freeview, and all have internet wireless broadband.) These are just examples, there are many other ways that things have been recently 'tweaked'! The cottages have exposed beams and stone-work. The cottages are 300 yards up a private drive and form part of a courtyard facing outwards over the surrounding fields and dales to give excellent views and some degree of privacy. In front of these cottages is a large grassed and garden area. There is ample area for off-road parking for all cottages. The spacious two person cottage has a galleried bedroom overlooking the large living room, in the centre of which is a log burner standing on a stone plinth acting as a focal point It also has a five piece suite in the top quality bathroom. Five award winning stone 4 Star cottages on our non-working farm, in a glorious location overlooking dales and rolling countryside in the heart of the White Peak area of the Peak District. Buxton , Matlock, Bakewell, Ashbourne, Leek and Chatsworth House are all about 11 miles away on the edge of the Peak District at different points on the compass, confirming the owners claim to be very much in the heart of the White Peak area of the Peak District. (The White Peak is the area of rolling countryside, dales, streams and rivers limestone villages and dry-stone walls, which give the area so much character). Alton Towers is less than 30 minutes drive away. One two bedroomed cottage still available over New Year which has the benefit of full sky tv and Wi-Fi Internet

A 26” HD ready TV and DVD/CD player and a selection of games, books and DVDs are all available for cosy nights in front of the fire. Doxford Farm is a 500 acre working farm situated amidst undulating, unspoilt wooded countryside, five miles from the coast. We offer comfortable family accommodation in the form of 8 stone built terrace cottages as well as the farmhouse annexe. The farm has both arable and livestock enterprises and supports various conservation and environmental stewardship schemes. The cottages are located at the end of a no-through road, thus creating a safe and quiet environment for our guests. The lake holds brown trout and our guests are welcome to fly fish by arrangement with the estate manager. We have five miles of wooded and lakeside walks and trails for our guests to explore the farm and our diverse wildlife.  We have 9 Self catering farm cottages, all 3 to 4 star. All cottages are well equipped with electric cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezers and microwaves. There is a communal washing room equipped with an additional washing machine and tumble dryer. Sussex Holme Street House

Holme Street House is a picturesque Grade 2 listed Georgian farmhouse, set in 10 acres of land. It is well equipped and beautifully furnished, having been our family home. The house is well stocked with family games and toys, and a large and varied selection of books for our visitors' use. It is peaceful and secluded, with views to the front over its own pastureland, and to the side and rear over delightful gardens. The tended gardens are a particular feature of the property, and extend to over 2 acres. They contain lawns, several different sitting areas, herb and vegetable gardens, orchard, Wendyhouse, and outdoor heated swimming pool (mid May - Sept approx) and changing room area. The pool is in its own separate walled area which can be closed off for safety. The field, sometimes grazed by sheep, can be walked in and leads to a small lake which contains carp and roach - you are welcome to fish, but will need to bring your own rods. The village of Pulborough is a 15 minute walk along the lane or through the field, and has excellent local shops. There are also 2 supermarkets within a 5 minute drive.

Powys The Cidermill at Boatside

The Cidermill at Boatside is a charming stonebuilt cottage situated along the stunning river Wye - ideal if you are looking for complete peace and tranquility, but with the advantage of being only 3 miles to the nearest town. Walking, fishing, bird watching and much more on offer. Inside, the decour is tateful and similar to a log cabin, offering comfortable centrally heated accommodation, comprising a double bedroom (with two single beds), shower room, kitchen and large sitting/dining room with a superb view directly onto the river! There are some excellent walks from the doorstep. The hill behind boatside has many paths going up it, as well as across it, and offers excellent views from the top. The Brecon Beacons, the Black Mountains and the hills of Drygarn Fawr beyond the Elan Valley can be seen on a clear day. From the village of Aberedw paths lead onto the hills beyond the village, where an interesting circular walk can easily be done in an afternoon, passing Llewellyn's Cave and Twm Tobaccos grave on the way. For those who enjoy mountain biking, then the same hills are accessible, with some fast and furious descents to tempt you! A helmet is advisable, and beware of nettles and gorse bushes on the tracks on the hill behind Boatside. If you need a more relaxing occupation, then the birdlife in the area is diverse. Birds of prey, waterfowl, woodpeckers and the smaller passerines abound in the vicinity of the farm, while a short walk on the hill will enable you to spot upland birds and skylarks. At the end of the day, a picnic on the river bank is a good way to relax; watch the world go by, as the swallows fly overhead and the trout rise lazily to the fly – paradise!
