Monreith House is located in extensive grounds one mile from the fishing village of Port William. Resulting from the Gulf Stream, this area contains some of the best tropical gardens in the U.K. The house was built by the Maxwells of Monreith at the end of the 18th c on land they have owned since the 15th c. The house contains much of the original contents, some of national importance and one of the best private libraries in Scotland collected over the last 300 years. A fabulous shabby chic historic mansion in south west Scotland for groups of up to 16-18 guests. The house stands in extensive grounds with walks through forest, the nearby hills and spectacular coast. The house is currently available for New Year and other dates when you might wish to gather with friends to celebrate. Availability for Christmas week as well for a traditional family Christmas. Dumfriesshire Cairnsmore Stable Cottage

Arriving at the sandstone viaduct and gates of the private Cairnsmore Estate you immediately get that 'away from it all' feeling. As you drive along the winding avenue to Stable Cottage, a clear burn runs alongside and ahead the hills and forests emerge as you approach the Courtyard archway to your destination. Stable Cottage is situated on a secluded estate that sits on the edge of the Cairnsmore of Fleet Nature Reserve, in Galloway, South West Scotland. Offering bright and cosy accommodation for 2-4 people. This spacious cottage, once the smithy and estate workers dinning room, has been converted to a high standard and provides the perfect base for adventures and relaxation. There are two bedrooms, the master with a king bed and the other with two single beds. Kitchen/diner with woodburning stove, lounge and bathroom. Ideal for couples and families interested in walking, cycling, fishing, golf, boating etc. Regular visitors have commented on the freedom, peace and quiet and friendly atmosphere.
