The Lodge is made from solid pine timbers with open plan ground floor, kitchen, living area and dining area, ptr shower area and toilet. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, microwave, washing machine, gas hob and electric oven. The living area has Sky television with video and CD radio.

Upstairs, the pine lodge has a double bathroom en-suite and a twin room.

The lodge is gas central heated and for the long summer evenings there is a spacious veranda equipped with hand-made wooden furniture and outside lighting.

Hire our 4-person hot tub to unwind in secluded surroundings. Adults only. The hot tub is up at the main farm house (50 yards) on a private sun trap patio with table and chairs, plus a gas barbecue.

Guests are welcome to explore the farm and take in the stunning views of Radnor Forest, the Brecon Beacons, the Black Mountains and even the Malverns on a clear day. We have a pool which is well stocked with brown trout, and fly fishing is available at a daily rate. Coarse fishing is available at the nearby Pen-y-Clawdd Pools.

Cottages in a rural lakeside setting in central England - Blithfield, Staffs

Blithfield barns have six beautiful 4 star holiday cottages in a rural setting on the edge of Blithfield Reservoir - a 750 acre lake in the heart of the lovely Staffordshire countryside.

We are 2 miles from the ancient village of ABBOTS BROMLEY, famous for it's annual Horn Dance which is performed here every September as it has been for the past hundreds of years. It also has 5 Pubs most of which serve excellent food. We are midway between Rugeley and Uttoxeter at the southern end of the Peak District close to Cannock Chase and also the Heart of England with numerous attractions on our doorstep.

This interesting extremely comfortable thatched cottage rural retreat , restored to the highest standard, with the accent on character, won the Island Conservation Award for 2006. It is situated within the grounds of an historic manor house in 60 acres of beautiful downland with splendid views, in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near Arreton, in the centre of the island.

At the entrance gate there is a large pond, so sit here for a while and feed the ducks. A bridle path leads to a network of footpaths and bridle paths that run across the island. You are welcome to bring your own horse, carriage and horse box, and enjoy the superb out-riding from the property. Alternatively, you might enjoy metal detecting on this site where there has been a house since the 13th century.

The cottage is south facing and very light and airy – cool in the summer and cosy in the winter. The large ground floor is open plan and has a terracotta tiled floor throughout. The sitting area has a fireplace housing an early Victorian cast iron stove. The kitchen has sold wood units with beech worktops, a built-in electric oven and hob and dishwasher. There is full oil central heating and a washing machine in the boiler room.
